There is no 'right' and 'wrong' career path. The flexibility to move both vertically and horizontally within a company and an industry is what can set you apart from your peers. The business panel and roundtables will feature individuals across many industries - consulting, finance, marketing, data analytics, and other disciplines - and dive into how exactly one navigates the business world. From these individuals, you will grow to understand the applicability and value a career in business can have across many different sectors.

Erin Archer, AB'00, MBA'06

Interim Treasurer & Director of Investments, DePaul University

Ms. Archer graduated from the College in 2000 with a degree in Biological Sciences and Law, Letters & Society. She received an MBA from Chicago Booth in 2006. After graduation from the College, she spent 15 years working in Equity Research on both the buy-side and sell-side, in Chicago, Minneapolis, London and South Africa. In late 2015, Ms. Archer joined DePaul University in Chicago as Director of Investments. In June 2017, she took on the role of Interim Treasurer, with oversight over the university's debt program, cash management, investments and external real estate. Finally, she is a former Trustee of The Thacher School and a former member of the Visiting Committee of the College of the University of Chicago. (Table 8)

Sonya Dekhtyar, AB'14

Senior Performance Management Analyst, Chicago Transit Authority

Ms. Dekhtyar graduated from the College in 2014 with a double major in Economics and Public Policy and a minor in French. On campus, she participated in the Russian folk choir Golosa, taught and choreographed flamenco, went through the UCIB (now Trott) program, and was managing editor of the inaugural issue of a business journal. After graduation, she worked for a year at Berkeley Research Group, a litigation consultancy, and then moved to the public sector at the Chicago Transit Authority, where she currently works as a senior performance management analyst. She lives in Chicago and works extensively in the community, acting as Board Treasurer of a theater company, mentoring high schoolers, and translating to and from Russian at events. (Table 9)

Mike Harriett, AB'08

CFO / COO, Dorsey Asset Management

Mr. Harriett graduated from the College in 2008 with a degree in Economics. While in the College, Mr. Harriett played for the College's football team and was Captain of the team during his senior year. After college, Mr. Harriett joined Morgan Stanley. In 2009 Morgan Stanley wanted Mr. Harriett to move to New York, but instead he chose to stay in Chicago to remain close to his family. He then joined Sanborn Kilcollin Partners, where he served as the Director of Operations until the end of 2014 when the two partners who founded the firm decided to retire. He then joined Citadel Securities for a brief period before leaving to become CFO/COO of Dorsey Asset Management. He is married and lives in Chicago with his wife Jen who is a 6th grade teacher. Shivani Jain, AB'13

Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, Fitness Cubed Inc

Ms. Jain graduated from the College in 2013 with a degree in Economics. While in the College, she was involved with the Maroon Key Society, ISAB, SASA, CNVC (Booth). After graduation, she was a fellow for Cook County Government as part of UCPIP. Simultaneously, she was working on her own fitness company, which designs and builds innovative products that let people keep moving throughout the day. Their first product, Cubii, is a mini elliptical designed for the workplace and fits under the desk to allow seamless activity while working. This product ran one of the most successful campaigns on Kickstarter from Chicago. She has been working as the Chief Marketing Officer at the company since 2014. (Table 13)

Luis Lara, AB'08

Digital Marketing Manager

Luis Lara graduated from the College in 2008 with a degree in History. Upon graduating he worked for the Marcus Evans Group in the Latin American Division until June 2014. He then worked as a Digital Project Manager for BMO Harris Bank until May of 2016. Luis currently works at The Warranty Group in Chicago, IL as a Digital Marketing Manager. (Table 11)

Anne Libby, AB'83, MBA Wharton'95

Founder and Owner, Anne Libby Consulting and Coaching

Ms. Libby graduated from the College in 1983 with a degree in Behavioral Science. While in the College, she was involved in Women's Track and Field and the Major Activities Board. After graduating, she made her way to financial services and earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. She's currently a coach and consultant, and works with leaders in closely-held and early stage organizations, mostly in the NYC tech community. (Table 12)

Tony McClendon, AB'94, MBA

Assistant Treasurer , Antares Capital

Mr. McClendon earned his degree from the College in 1994. From there, he earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Since completing business school, he has held various positions of increasing responsibility in both finance and treasury. Currently, Mr. McClendon is Assistant Treasurer at Antares Capital. Robert Monahan, AB'96, JD'99 from UVA Law

Mr. Monahan, Esq. graduated from the College in 1996 with a degree in Philosophy. While in the College, he wrote for The Maroon -- specifically the theater and arts section (2 free tix to any show!). After graduating from UVA Law in 1999, he worked in New York City for nine years in commercial litigation and insurance defense. There, he married the love of his life and soon started a family. Because his parents pleaded and begged him for more time with their grandchildren, on any terms, he moved to his hometown in 2008 and opened his own law practice in 2009, serving the needs of Lake County, IL. He has a podcast called "Everyday Law," which demystifies the law for the layman. He has three children -- two boys and a girl. He has little spare time to do anything but dote on them. (Table 10)

Sab Redzepovic, AB'16

Analyst, BDT & Company

Mr. Redzepovic graduated from the College in 2016 with a degree in Economics. While in the College, he was involved with UChicago Careers in Business (now Trott Business Program) and Dougan Scholars Certificate Program, played for the University's rugby team, and was a brother of Delta Upsilon fraternity. Mr. Redzepovic is currently an Analyst at BDT & Company, responsible for transaction analysis and execution of investments and advisory assignments. Prior to BDT, he interned at Barclays as an investment banking summer analyst in Chicago. Mr. Redzepovic is from Bosnia & Herzegovina, was raised in San Diego, California, and regularly enjoys a pleasantly intense game of ping pong. (Table 13)

Krystal Samuels, AB'04

Executive Project Administrator, Rise Interactive

Ms. Samuels graduated from the College in 2004 with a degree in Psychology. While in the College, she was involved with OBS, SASA, and SAMAHAN, where she coordinated lighting and danced for their cultural shows. She took classes in many different disciplines that piqued her interest including math, chemistry, biological sciences and visual art. Ms. Samuels is currently unemployed, however previously, she was an Integration Manager at World Wide Technology, where she was a project manager for new customers seeking technical solutions with Cisco One. She still resides in Chicago, where she volunteers as a mentor to high school students, with whom English is a second language. (Table 11)

Carla Taylor, AB'92, MBA'93

Senior Director, Fitch Ratings

Carla Norfleet Taylor, CFA is a senior director in Fitch Ratings' corporate finance group. Here responsibilities include corporate credit analysis for high-yield and investment grade companies in the restaurant, grocery retail, and food industries. In addition to publishing issuer-specific research and topical commentaries, Carla leads and contributes to cross-sectional and global research publications with past topics including activist investors, the affordable care act, and global protein. Prior to joining Fitch in 2004, Carla was Vice President of Equity Research for The Kenwood Group and Second Vice President at The Northern Trust Corporation where she worked as an International Equity Analyst and Investment Product Manager. Carla earned a BA in Professional Options (Economics) in 1992 and a MBA in Finance in 1993 from the University. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2000 and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago. (Table 8)

Winnie Wu, AB'08, MBA'12 (UCLA Anderson)

Sr Financial Analyst, PepsiCo, Inc.

Ms. Wu graduated from the College in 2008 with an AB in Economics. While in the College, she played the violin in Chamber Orchestra and was in CUSA. She is currently working as a Senior Financial Analyst at PepsiCo, Inc., concentrating on the Gatorade, Tropicana and Quaker brands. She works closely with Sales and is focused on analyzing sales data and doing forecasts. Ms. Wu spent two years in Los Angeles getting her MBA at UCLA Anderson, and is back to living in Chicago.
